Organizers: The National Round Table

The National Round Table for introduction of social standards was established at the end of 2004 with the aim of promoting the introduction of and adherence to the social standards in the companies, first from the textile and apparel sector, and then in other sectors of the economy. It involves representatives of employers’ organisations, syndicates, state bodies and agencies, as well as other organisations and companies from the non-government sector. In 2006 the National Round Table initiated and held the First National CSR Conference under the patronage of MLSP and with the financial support of German Technical Cooperation Office (GTZ GmbH). The opening and the awarding procedure of the Socially Responsible Company Award was attended by Mr. Vladimir Spidla, Commissioner for employment, social policy and equal opportunities of the European Commission. At the end of 2008 the third time in a row the conference gathered representatives of the business, the state and the syndicate to discuss and exchange useful practices related to CSR and proved that the Bulgarian society considers the topic important.
